UPDATES and UPCOMING EVENTS wk ending the 8th of December 2006
UCC's Big GAY ball
This will be held on the 30th of march, they are looking for 15euro for each ticket to be paid in advance asap (i'll contact them and see if I can make arrangements for after christmas). Its a black tie event, you can wear either dressess or tuxes, whatever your desire is, as long as its black tie. It'll probally be an over night event and the first of its kind that cork will be hosting. Its over 18's (sorry to anyone in the soc that is below that age limit) and sounds like it will be a blast.
QUEERBASH!!
As UCC are hosting their ball on the 30th of march, I don't think Queerbash should run in oppisition, so I'm recommending that I look for the 13th of April, if that is acceptable to all. Please let me know so that I can get this sorted ASAP. We're also looking at the idea of running this on a friday night, before Dolans run their night on sat giving our guests two nights to party on down, and also there was an idea proposed that we look into getting the belltable to do some gay movies during sat. Opinions as always welcomed.
Santa's Big Gay Snowballs
This event was a major success, thank you to all who showed up on the night and I hope ye all had loads, and loads of fun. The proceeds will go towards making sure that Queerbash 4 is a success.
Elections
The soc elections have been cancelled until we come back next semester, due to needing more than two members of the present committee to be there in order to make it offical.
OTHER EVENTS coming up are:
Ann Summers Student Show: organised by the Art Collage on the 13th of december 2006, being held in Dolans, between 8.30 till late. tickets are 6 euro in and proceeds go to red ribbion.
Gay Clare Event: 29th December @ the one mile inn, lahinch road, ennis. Lounge lizards are playing and i'm not sure what the cost in is, but the lizards are definatly worth it.
Rainbow House: Are orgainising a womens only night in BAR3, Bedford Road on the 19th of January. it will cost 10 euro in, and have the live band 'juice' playing with a female dj afterwards.
Outdoor Pursuits Club: have organised with the Kayak club fundraising for Lisnagry Respite Centre. They are selling 'love munster' santa hats for 2 euro. All money goes straight to the charity. they will be in the Red Raisins/main canteen on tuesday december 12th between 12 - 2 p.m. They are also organising a red hat day, where anyone who is wearing one of the hats will recieve free tea and coffee in any of the Micheal Fagan establishments on campus, this will be held on the 14th of December.
Blood Ban: Anyone who hasn't sent a letter to ger about this, and wants to, please do so asap.
NEXT MEETING!: Will be held on the 11th November 2006. Room 3, Students union @ 7.00.
