Are you prepared to slip on your pink boxing gloves and fight tooth and manicured nail to win the most illustrious and avant-guard accolade in the region? Then step into the ring for the Alternative Miss Limerick and prepare to fight for the title.
There are three rounds in this contest Daywear, Swimwear, Eveningwear. The first two are fast and sassy. Contestants should knock out their opponents with their tasty outfits and witty personalities. Things get tough in the final round and this is truly where the fight is won or lost. Performance and originality are the key, and those who combine training with strategy usually last the pace.
Drag Queens, Drag Queens and others, the Alternative Miss Limerick welcomes everyone to its stage all you need is the will to perform and the dream to be different. If you have dream living quietly inside you, it might be time to let it come to the fore. For one night only, release the drag queen or king in you, and step onto the ultimate platform for both drag virgins and seasoned performers - the Alternative Miss Limerick.
Alternative Miss Limerick does not discriminate on grounds of sexuality, gender, age or even weirdness - it requires only a thimbleful of glamour, a cupful of dedication and a truckload of imagination. In return contestants are promised a whole universe full of love and appreciation and perhaps they may even walk away with a dainty little tiara atop their flowing locks.
“I feel Miss Limerick has forged out a really unique place in the drag scene in Ireland,” said producer Nicole Dunphy. “Not only is it an excellent platform for those who are on their first time out but it also attracts some very accomplished performers. As a show it has a great balance.”
AML is interested in talent, so if you think you have what it takes and would relish an opportunity to perform in front of what is guaranteed to be an extremely enthusiastic crowd- then its time to get an entry form. The show takes place on Saturday October 21 in Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick and Panti has sworn to take position at the helm once again.
