The next meeting will be in room 1 of the students union, on tuesday 18th of April from 7 - 8 p.m.

the second half hour, 7.30 - 8.00 will be spent just catching up and going over any information we have recieved from around the country.

Afterwards we'll go across to the stables for a cup of coffee or a beer before heading home.

DROP - IN CENTRE:
This is still in operation, though as the uni is closed on monday (easter bank hols), it will only take place on Tuesday. If your feeling a little stressed, or need to talk to someone contact gerard.hanley@ul.ie This is in operation up in the councillers area floor M in the evening.

QUEERBASH:
The night was a success, after the bills where paid, and the debts sorted out we made 300 euros. If any of you have some good pictures of the night, could you forward them to the OUT in UL account, also if you don't want your picture on the webpage, let us know and we won't post them.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES BALL:
We were given two tickets by the special Apps, OUT in UL was represented by various members of the society, within other societies, we have a group pic which will go up on the site once we have a chance to do it. The night was a good one, much fun had by all. Congrats to all those who won awards. I think however next year, the society should give a stronger showing, as a society.

AN FOCAL:
Keep an eye on An Focal's next editition, there will be two articles in it about the trip to the opening of the new GLEN offices in Dublin and QUEERBASH 3.

FRESHER AND EXCHANGE STUDENTS PACKS:
We're looking for members of the society who will be around over the summer, and the start of next year to help us come up with something that can be put into the Fresher and Exchange Students Packs during the orientation week on campus in september. We'd also like to hear from anyone that is intrested in attending a stall during that week, and during the clubs and socs promotion.

DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP IN IRELAND; CALL FOR PAPERS:
A working group on Domestic Partnership has been established by the minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform. They are looking for submissions from any intrested person, organisation or group to provide input into it. Deadline is Friday 28th of April 2006. CONFERENCE:
We're looking for your ideas on subjects and your prefered speakers, e-mail the group with these and please if you want to help out in anyway shape or form, come to tuesday's meeting in Room 1 @ 7.00

AGM:
We will be holding an AGM wk 11 (its week nine this week). We'd like to know who you want as your President, your Vice President, Treasurer and PRO. The vote will be done by secret ballot and we'll send you out a mail letting you know who the new commitee will be. Please ensure you show up for this meeting in week 11 as its important that the society keep going, and in order to do so, we need to have a commitee in place before next year.

IN UL:
The commitee is considering starting up a seperate group, to enable those amongst us who aren't quite comfertable with being out and a member of OUT in UL to come along to. This seperate group will not take away from OUT in UL but will be viewed as an icebreaker. All of you have experience the nervousness and fear that comes along with joining an LGBT society for the first time, so this will give those who are going through the same thing a chance to ease into OUT in UL. We'd like your thoughts and feelings on this. So once again, if you have a comment mail the group with the above heading in the subject line and we'll get back to you.

Thursday, April 5th, 2006

Next meeting Tuesday 11th April, Room 1 Students Union!

Queerbash:
The invitation list for Queerbash has been correlated and sent out. Confirmed time for the door opening is 9.00 p.m. Faded Motorway Cronies will take the stage at 9.30 to be followed by Lounge Lizards. The night will finish up with a DJ and some good music. We hope to see you all there.

Those helping with the decoration of the place, be at the globe at 3.00 p.m on friday, we've three Pride flags, two Irish flags, one Peace Flag. Any other decorations you want for the night, bring them along. I'll pick up what's left of the posters from the students union on my way out.

We will also be handing out Shag Packs at the door.

Cork Trip:
It was a blast, and links were definatly formed with the UCC crowd who are sending some of their soc up to join us on friday night. They're running a Gay Ball next year, so its tuxes and dresses for whom ever wants to wear them. We'll keep ye informed.

Clubs and Socs Ball:
We've definatly got two tickets for this, and there might be a possiblity of getting a few more…so, who'd like to go?

Keep reading, not long now!

GLEN OPENING:
Went off well, the place looks fine, they'd a big tent, and the Taoiseach gave a speech. Glen will be recieveing grant aid to help them in their valuable work.

Workshop:
The workshop ended this week with a movie about all the issues of coming out and being a gay man in New York in it. The movie was called Torch Song Trillogy, and was a success (even if some thought it dated) *grins*. There has been a proposal that during exam time that we might have a chance to view another movie about coming out (more recent). The idea is to educate, but also to give ye a chance to sit back, drink some coffee, and eat popcorn (like we need a reason) so if yer intrested contact gerard.hanley@ul.ie and let him know.

Budget:
The budget will be getting sorted out next week, anyone with any bills or that for the society should see either myself or the club sec, John. We promise to have this sorted out and in place for whom ever comes after us.

Website:
We're considering adding a forum to the website which will allow past members and present members to stay in touch with each other. So that you don't feel that far away from the freinds you've made in the society. How do ye feel about it? We're also going to be updating the Website in the next few weeks, stay tunned!

Drop - In Service:
The drop - in service run by ger, is still in operation, if you have something you need to chat about, or even just want to go chill for a few minutes, contact gerard.hanley@ul.ie and he'll let you know where and when it is. We should make good use of this service while we have it.

Almost there now!

All Ireland Conference:
Over the next few weeks we will be planning this conference and its layout. This needs to be done now and over the summer, anyone intrested in helping out and who will be around over the summer please attend the next couple of meetings.

Plans for Next Year:
Amongst our plans for next year are going back down to cork (a few times), going to Belfast, Galway and maybe Waterford, we're also considering running an inter - soc trip to Prauge, and going up to vist our friends in Duba next year (where they will be our hosts and show us around). Now before you think this is all about socialising (yea, it partly is…lol), its also about building links between our soc and the other socs in Ireland. Building a sense of community while having fun into the bargin.

well that's all for now…

If you want anymore information about any of these topics, or would like to add an event, or let the soc know about something that is coming up, e-mail us at outinul@yahoo.ie we'll be glad to tell the others.
